Bitcoin : Bitcoin Core vs Bitcoin Cash Strategy & first mover disadvantage in regards to second layer scaling.
On chain scaling cannot work to serve a global audience for every transaction; maybe some implementation that succeeds at what lightning network is trying to do can.
Bitcoin Core is taking on the challenge to figure this out, while Bitcoin Cash is doing what is proven to work currently. They do the science, and incur the costs, but Bitcoin cash can also reap the rewards of the discoveries.
Bitcoin Cash won’t need to suffer from between now and when a proper second layer scaling solution is developed, BUT it has the option to integrate it later, once it is developed and proven on BTC.
BTC is taking on all the extra development costs and networking issues, such as high fees, etc.
Seems like Bitcoin Cash could, in the future, do a lateral move to be compatible with second layer solutions and suffer less then Bitcoin Core. Potentially over coming it, if it becomes clear early on that this is the strategy.
Some of this can come into play in the issues described here: [https://hbr.org/2001/10/first-mover-disadvantage](https://hbr.org/2001/10/first-mover-disadvantage)
It’s probably not for the best to be the FIRST mover in regards to second layer scaling solutions.
