Bitcoin : How can BCHABC claim victory when they changed the bitcoin protocol to a centralized database/not bitcoin? This has the worst repercussions down the line and could be the signal to the end.

I’m a BTC and BCH hodler. Downvote if you have a closed mind, but I bet on all horses on this race to win because I believe in Bitcoin and in blockchain.

BCHABC prevented reorgs by changing code so the war is technically over. But they changed bitcoin to no longer follow longest chain, but just follow whatever they dictate.

It has become centralized to the point that PoW is now invalid.

This was the worst decision you could have made and will destroy credibility of BCH down the line. It just isn’t bitcoin anymore, it’s a centrally controlled database. Say what you will for BTC core and Faketoshi/Satoshi/whatever, but ABC is just that now… ABC, not BCHABC or Bitcoin ABC.

I think it was a desperate move by Ver and company but this may go down as the end for BCH. I don’t believe SV can take over the reigns for them but maybe who knows if something emerges from that. But ABC leading sure as hell will secure the end of BCH.

It’s a shame because BCH had the whitepaper’s soul at heart. If you read Nakamoto, BCH’s argument had the most sense. It was why I hedged my bet with BTC back then. Just unfortunately led by simply, the wrong people.

ABC didn’t need to put that code in, they could have won the war with the added power. That code was the true defeat, because now there is no winner. Media and majority voice (not hash) will see it as a victory in deterring SV, but at best, everyone has lost. The world will not view this code protocol change lightly. This was the worst way for the war to have gone.

ABC is a really bad actor. Read up on Nakamoto’s original posts and he mentions, don’t quote me on this, that if a takeover attack were to occur and succeed, it would be in the best interest of the attacker to uphold and continue running the protocol smoothly as he stands to gain more from it than from the value drop if he pursues selfish interests (ie bad governance, etc) That tiny code change ended Bitcoin as it is and turned the decentralized PoW to a true central database of yesteryear.
