Bitcoin : ShapeShift getting shut down (aka showing ID) means crypto “currency” is more winner takes all

ShapeShift provided an important role with integration in [blockchain.com](https://blockchain.com), [yours.org](https://yours.org) and many other sites allow you to transact in multiple currencies easily. If you have for example Siacoin, Litecoin or Monero you can always use them on [yours.org](https://yours.org) and convert it to BCH with ShapeShift.

Now that ShapeShift has ID requirements, significantly fewer people will go through the hassle of signing up. Might as well just create a Bitfinex account and convert at a lower cost.

I feel now users will slowly be funneled to the most used crypto “currency” to make payments and purchases. This change is only marginal with ShapeShift, but changes the landscape that any crypto isn’t quite money any more.
