Blockchain : Are Blockchains the Answer for Secure Elections?
Recently there were news wherein kids were able to hack the elections. So, of course, a lot of people are now questioning the integrity of the elections. We could all go back to doing it manually but do we really to do that?
I have read in the news that there is already a state offering those in service to vote in the next elections using blockchain technology. Is that something that we could really implement in the entire country? If so, will it be as secure and as transparent as it is supposed to be? Or is there a huge chance there will also be ways to manipulate it?
What is the Blockchain?
A block chain is a transaction database shared by all nodes participating in a system based on the Bitcoin protocol. A full copy of a currency’s block chain contains every transaction ever executed in the currency. With this information, one can find out how much value belonged to each address at any point in history.
