Ethereum update: Accuracy of current clamp meters vs plug-in power meters

Does anyone here use current clamps to measure current draw of their mining rigs instead of meters that plug directly into the socket? Do they measure AC current accurately enough?

I’m thinking of picking one up with some AC line splitters so that I can periodically measure the power draw of my rigs without plugging them out. Would the current clamp and AC line splitter combination be safer for long term use than plugin power meters like the Kill-a-watt?
