Ethereum update: [GOVERNANCE-COMMUNITY]The signal to noise ratio in this sub is slowly but steadily degrading

In the last year i’ve noticed a worrying trend in this sub and that’s the proliferation of posts promoting projects that are nothing but thinly veiled cash grabs flaunting their “new revolutionary and disruptive” tech

Inane memes better suited for ethtrader and shitposting are also on the rise.

Defining a clear demarcation between tech talk and market action/sentiment and confining the latter to it’s own sub [r/ethtrader]( was an incredibly smart decision and i don’t want to see the barrier becoming less effective.

This time last year the sub was basically stack exchange for newbs with basic questions who were approaching the space in droves due to increased media coverage and and i didn’t mind because hey…we all have to start somewhere. But now we see almost daily posts about EOS, markets, memes etc.

Why weren’t these removed?

I know it’s not easy to moderate a sub and all the mods here have other much more important jobs but please be stringent in enforcing the rules.

And yes the irony of asking for tighter restrictions/enforcement in a sub dedicated to a decentralized, trustless, uncensorable world computer is not lost on me.
