Ethereum update: Officially Time (for me) to Close up Shop
I got in when Ethereum was at $800 a share, saw it peak at $1400, and then drop ever since. I can’t tell you how exciting the whole thing was, and the battle of scouring the web to find and snag a GPU for a bearable price and watching ETH prices fluctuate before my eyes.
I transformed my gaming rig into a mining rig. I had started with a metal shelf from Walmart. I had taped antistatic bags everywhere, then zip-tied a giant fan and all components to it…Even a monitor was mounted on the side. Bought a NVME to PCIE adapter for a 7th GPU, but my CPU Cooler was in the way!
The whole time people told me “It’s too late”, but I continued on. NOW it’s too late. I got some Ethereum, but after the dip below $100, I can’t do it anymore.
Would like to thank everyone on the sub. I know I wasn’t very active, but your posts and resources were essential to my (short-lived) success.
All of the troubleshooting and fine tuning I had to do only made me more computer-competent (although I thought I already was).
It was amazingly fun while it lasted…GOOD LUCK!
