Ethereum update: Questions re: safe powering of powered risers
So I recently learned that using SATA power cables and/or SATA adapters with risers is extremely dangerous. Basically they can burst into flames at any moment. See: https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/wiki/hardware/risers (specifically this image: https://i.imgur.com/P25zrQT.jpg
1) Can I use a 8pin+6pin connector to power both my GPU (8pin) and the riser (6pin)?
2) Since I only have 2 of the 8pin+6pin cables for each of my PSUs, if I’m powering the remaining risers with the 6pin “PERIF” cable, how many risers can I safely plug into daisychained cable?
