Ripple update: Earning money by selling XRP as an FI.
I was wondering about the following. Let’s pretend I am a financial institution on the selling end of an XRP transfer using XRapid.
A customer wants to transfer $5000 at the moment XRP had a market value of $0.50. The buying party of XRP would need to buy 10k XRP.
Even when a transaction can take place in 4 seconds, let’s say the market value of XRP becomes $0.51.
The selling party would only need to sell 9804 XRP. This leads to having an excess of 196 XRP, which at that moment in time has a value of $99.96.
Would this mean that acting as a selling end in an XRP transfer is indirect investing or speculating in the XRP market value?
