Bitcoin : [ELI5] Does it matter much if miners chose different implementations?


After hearing that nChain have announced Bitcoin SV, it got time realizing that I don’t know what it means for the network as a whole.

Could somebody explain what it could potentially mean? For example, CoinGeek are 100% committed to using SV, but what about Bitmain or other miners?
