Bitcoin : I’ve been hodling BTC for a while now, can I still access BCH from the split?

I’ve had my BTC for a while now and kept it in the same wallet. I remember reading a while back about the split and that if you had your BTC since before the split then you automatically had some BCH, you just had to do something to get it. Is this still the case? Can I still get that BCH?

If so how do I do it?

Edit: nevermind, it looks like I must have moved my coins to a different address at some point 🙁
