Bitcoin : understanding unique wallet address

I’ve been reading Mastering Bitcoin book. And the following estimation is mentioned:

is this simply a permutation of 256 bits ?

how does alphanumeric SHA factor in? (is it just HEX representation of base 2?)

Also i am curious how we go from 2^256 to 10^77.. is there a way to explain this using a much smaller number?
