There is a proposal for higher education initiatives wherein students can learn more about blockchain. Plans were also discussed on how to develop a blockchain ecosystem to avoid a brain drain of blockchain talent from Ohio. Blockchain’s potential to drive “economic and workforce development, save tax dollars by increasing efficiency across government, and bolster the security of storing and circulating sensitive data in the public sector” were, of course, addressed.

What is the Blockchain?
A block chain is a transaction database shared by all nodes participating in a system based on the Bitcoin protocol. A full copy of a currency’s block chain contains every transaction ever executed in the currency. With this information, one can find out how much value belonged to each address at any point in history.
