Ethereum update: At my wits end trying to identify which card is which on which PCI bus, please help.

Hi,

I recently built my second open air rig with 6x GPU (5 1050Ti, 1 GTX 1070), I used a Biostar TB350-BTC board, same board as my first open air rig which had a similar setup and no issues.

With the second rig I am experiencing frequent restarts due to error 15 NVML: Cannot get fan or temperature data.

There is no overclock on the unit.

I assume this is a single bad card/bad riser, I would like to try to identify what card is at fault, problem being I have no idea how to figure this out, I cannot even identify which card is on which PCI bus, Claymore 10.6 shows the PCI bus’s as 6,7,8,9,10,11 (same as device manager) — while the motherboard simply reads them as 1,2,3,4,5,6, incredibly confusing. How can I know which bus is on which GPu in the miner?

All of the 1050Ti are the same brand, and my original plan was to set the fan to 0 on each to identify them, well lucky me MSI put a 35% minimum in the BIOS, so even with afterburner I cannot kill any of the fans.

I have tried the touching method to feel heat, but this is not accurate as 1050Ti’s with 35% fan run too close to those with full load as they are cooler cards.

Biostar documentation is useless. I just want to label my motherboard PCIE slots with their associated bus and/or card, this should be a simple task, but I am stuck =(.

I know removing all of the cards and going slot by slot is an option, but it seems extremely time consuming, if there is a better way please let me know,

Thanks!
Paul
