Ethereum update: How to recover coins/keys from a password / help me figure out what wallet I used?
This is such a stupid thing to have to ask, but I’m upping my security game and checking in on balances for various coins I hold, and when I pulled out my records for my Ethereum balance all I have written down is a password. I thought maybe it was MEW, but when I enter that password (in the offline version) I get private keys to an empty wallet. I haven’t lost my house or put myself into financial ruin but I would really like to be able to find a way to be able to use my Ethereum. I don’t have any files for this password so I’m thinking maybe it was some deterministic wallet.
Does anybody know what wallet program I might have used?
My usual policy is to use offline generators for wallets when possible but it’s also my policy to keep enough records or files to be able to find/use my coins and apparently I messed that up so let’s not say anything stupid is impossible.

I’ve tried searching for various Ethereum wallets but honestly there’s so much spam and clickbait and programs I don’t recognize… I’d feel better getting a couple recommendations from the community before firing this password into every app I can find.
