Ethereum update: Overclocking: Voltages and temps?

I have a question about overclocking, voltages and temps.

Currently, I’ve been going for the lowest voltages I can get away with, and turning down clocks to get things stable. It’s been mixed results tbh. However, I’ve seen other people with more stable setups that have quite a bit higher voltages than me, but lower temps, lower fan speeds, and higher hashrates.

So where I am at the moment is 1100/2000/850. However, I’ve seen people go to something along the lines of 1150/2200/950, and get significantly lower fan speeds and temperatures. Is this generally correct, and if so, why is more voltage and more clock speed less demanding on temps?
