Ethereum update: Storing text on the blockchain:

Hello there friends,

I have a project in mind and was wondering what the most efficient way to store text on the blockchain would be so that it was immune from censorship. I understand that you can convert words into hex and then add this to the transaction data. This would be very expensive but I was wondering how expensive?

What would the cost of 1000 words be for example?

Is it a linear increase in cost?

Is there a limit to the amount of data sent in a transaction (apart from the gas limit)?

Would a smart contract be a better way?

Would a smart contract be equally as safe from censorship?

Many thanks
