Ethereum update: Ubuntu 16.04.4 “The system is running in low-graphics mode”.

I finally got the mining rig up and running before the weekend with 2 rx570’s, it ran through the weekend with 2 cards because I ran out of time to install the rest (8 rx570’s total). Today I put in the remaining 6 cards, but when it booted Ubuntu a box popped up saying “The system is running in low-graphics mode”. It wouldn’t proceed to the desktop like it did with 2 cards connected.

I hit Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get to the terminal, logged in and ran the miner. All 8 cards mined perfectly (and they still do), so I definitely didn’t mess up the drivers. I made no changes to software, just shut it down, plugged in 6 more cards and turned it on. Anyone know what could be broken with the desktop and how to fix it? At least if the desktop can’t be fixed I’d like it to start mining after it boots, I don’t necessarily need a desktop environment.
