Ripple update: 1500 TPS / Is this actually enough for mass adoption? What is up with Cobalt?

Is it just me or is anyone wondering: 1500 Transactions Per Second…is that enough?

With more and more adoption it is inevitable that this would hit a wall. Visa can do 24k TPS and they “crashed” few months ago.

Is the “Cobalt” technology helping this out? Why don’t we get more information on this topic? Is this not a problem?
