Ripple update: The Massive XRP Viral Marketing Strategy that is the Coil Project
So I read an explanation of Coil that led me to realize just how big it will be for the growth of XRP.
Here is an excerpt:

I think I remember that a portion of the XRP released from escrow each month has been earmarked for marketing/charity/project-development/etc…
I believe that Coil’s efforts would fall under one or several of those categories so that could explain where some of the funding comes from to pay content creators extra money past the $5 that donators seek to give them.
This kind of marketing could be huge. Imagine Youtubers/Twitch-Streamers/etc… asking their subscribers to sign up for Coil so that they could get some extra money past the $5 the subscriber wants to donate, at no extra cost.
This is brilliant viral marketing on Ripple’s part and a good use of some of the escrow funds.
