Bitcoin : Imagine a BCH fork – with patents
Imagine different dev teams want to do different things with BCH and a fork is imminent. Imagine that you reject one of these forks because you don’t think the changes are a good idea.
Now imagine somebody has patented certainly commonly-used operations but has benevolently licensed them to be used only on the BCH blockchain.
Now imagine that he sides with the dev team that is creating the fork you reject and after the fork you will no longer be allowed to continue to use these patented commonly-used operations on the blockchain you are using, unless you accept the hard fork.
Do you see the problem with patents yet, even when they are “helping BCH” by being licensed for free for use with BCH?
