Santiago Siri, a one-time videogame developer turned political theorist “dreams of a new kind of social media platform on which we spend “vote tokens” that can do anything, from electing politicians and passing referendums to enacting the bylaws of a social club or establishing the business plan of a corporation. It’s democracy by click.”

Blockchain is supposedly unhackable transparent. It can guarantee that no centralized election authority is required to tabulate a vote. It will be near impossible for politicians to manipulate it. No party may be able to interfere with the popular mandate. But will it always be the case?

Siri says though that the larger, far more revolutionary goal is to devise a decentralized decision-making process that eliminates the necessity for any kind of central government at all

What is the Blockchain?



A block chain is a transaction database shared by all nodes participating in a system based on the Bitcoin protocol. A full copy of a currency’s block chain contains every transaction ever executed in the currency. With this information, one can find out how much value belonged to each address at any point in history.
