CryptoCurrency : Upcoming consensus mechanisms
Aside from Proof of Work and Proof of Stake ( or a variant such as delegated proof of stake ). Was wondering if you folks here are aware of other consensus mechanisms that have a chance of becoming successful and highly used in the future?
In my opinion Dfinity with [threshold relay](https://dfinity.org/pdf-viewer/pdfs/viewer?file=../library/dfinity-consensus.pdf) looks the most interesting right now, because so far it looks like the closest to solving the scalability trilemma.
Wondering if you guys are aware and excited about any other novel methods of obtaining consensus on a blockchain and have the resources to share behind them.
