Ripple update: Uphold USD card and capital gains

I was wondering if any Uphold users can answer this question. If I move XRP to my USD card in Uphold but do not cash out does doing so trigger capital gains? In other words, if the price of XRP was plummeting and I decided to temporarily move my stash to the USD card but then transferred back to XRP at some time in the near future does that count as a transaction with capital gains or is it only if I transfer USD from Uphold to my bank account?
